I am in love with my business partner…

We’re Chloe and Evan. (Well, I am the Chloe half of this partnership)

We help people find their own piece of land in Florida.

But really…

We believe in building a life that feels like ours. A life that challenges others expectations. And helping others do the same.

If you asked Evan and I when we started dating what our life would look like today…

We wouldn’t have had a clear answer.

But we did have a feeling.

We both had this lifelong belief that we were meant for something more than a traditional life. Something different than the path we saw around us.

We just didn’t know the “how” yet.

We had both started various businesses over our lives. Me with petsitting and summer camps, or with selling plants. Evan with various investing and ‘fix & flip” businesses. But nothing that STUCK. Nothing life changing.

Before Paradise Parcels…

There was just us, figuring life out side by side. 22 and 28, with a little more than enough to get by, but not much more..

Talking about what we wanted life to feel like, not just look like.

Freedom. Flexibility. Time together. Building something that was ours. Something different.

We didn’t have the blueprint.

But we had each other. And somehow, that felt like enough to start.

Evan found land investing the way a lot of people do…

After reading Rich Dad Poor Dad, Evan was set on becoming a real estate investor. But we did not know how we were going to get there. So we started listening to podcasts and crowdsourcing information.

One of those podcasts was The Land Geek.

At first, it was just interesting.

Then it became a possibility.

And then one day, on our ONE YEAR dating anniversary (crazy, right?!), Evan asked me to be his business partner.

Not someday.

Now.

Looking back now, it feels ‘crazy’ that we took that leap so quickly, but there was never a moment we thought it wasn’t the right move. It felt like a door had opened, and it was our responsibility to walk through it, together.

That moment wasn’t about having certainty.

It was about choosing to believe in something we couldn’t fully see yet. It was about trusting that the map would unfold, and all we needed to do was take that first step.

Evan wasn’t just bringing an idea to the table.

He was offering a different kind of life.

And saying yes to that meant saying yes to:

  • The unknown

  • The risk

  • The growth

  • And each other, in a deeper way

That was the real beginning.

Not the first deal (though that was proof of concept).

Not that first paycheck.

That moment.

In The Early Days

We started learning.

And then… we just started trying.

We made mistakes (Hell, we still do!) . We overthought things. We had moments where we wondered if we were doing it right.

We kept going.

We knew that the only way we would truly fail, is if we gave up.

Because even when things felt uncertain, one thing didn’t:

We were building it together.

And that made the hard days, the long hours, and the sacrifices we made feel worth it.

At some point, something really special happened.

We were invited onto The Land Geek Podcast.

The same podcast we used to listen to, wondering if this life was possible.

Now we were sitting there, sharing our story.

That moment didn’t feel like a “success milestone.”

It felt like a confirmation:

We trusted ourselves… and it led us here.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s this:

You don’t figure it all out first.

You figure it out as you go (much like marriage).

  • You take the step before you feel ready

  • You learn through experience, not perfection

  • You keep moving, even when it’s messy

That’s how anything meaningful gets built.

In 2021, I quit my full time job, and we got married.

Then, by the time we went on Jessey Kwong’s podcast, The Land Investing Business Secrets, the conversation had shifted.

We were out of the start up craze, and into the ‘slog’ of the day to day.

It wasn’t just about land anymore.

It was about us.

It was about the systems and boundaries we built not only in our business, but in our life (HELLOOOO 5:25am alarms!).

About what it’s really like to build a business as a couple.

And the truth is…

It’s a wild ride.

There’s no separation between “work” and “life.”
The highs are shared. The stress is shared. The responsibility is shared. There is no blaming a coworker (unless of course its a cat).

Some days feel easy.

Some days feel heavy

But most days, things feel aligned.

Through all of it, we’ve grown in ways we never could have on our own. And in ways that we wouldn’t have been able to grow without being partners in this way.

We’ve learned how to communicate better. How to support each other. How to show up even when things feel hard. How to be business partners, without ONLY being business partners.

It’s brought us closer.

(And HELL YEAH we go to therapy together- something we are extremely passionate about, business owners or not)

We Wouldn’t Change for Anything

If you asked us today if we would do it all again…

The answer is immediate.

Yes.

Not because it’s been easy. It has been the hardest thing we have ever done (and we do triathlons 😉)

But because it’s been ours.

Every challenge, every lesson, every win, every tearful moment … we’ve experienced it side by side.

There’s something really special about building a life with the person you love, instead of trying to fit your life around everything else. But that is not to say that it doesn’t come without its own challenges.

now, we’ve:

  • Completed 200+ land deals

  • Helped hundreds of people find their piece of Florida

  • Built a business that gives us the freedom we once dreamed about

But more than that…

We’ve built a life that feels aligned with who we are. One that allows us to rest, travel and experience life fully.

We’re still growing.

Still dreaming.

Still building… together.

Things may not look exactly like we thought they would.. but in alot of ways, life is better than we ever could have imagined.

Getting to share our story on these podcasts has been something we look back on with such fondness.

But we know this is just one chapter.

We’ll be sharing more soon on the Honest Wealth Builders Podcast, where we will talk more about this stage in our business and life, and the systems, automatons and AI that we leverage on a day to day basis to keep living the life of our dreams. It feels really special to keep telling this story as it unfolds.

I love you Evan, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us next. Finding you, will always be the greatest adventure of my lifetime. This one & all of them.
